Formby Council - Newspaper Praise

10/02/2005 - Formby Council - Newspaper Praise

This week saw the unveiling of a new Logo Design for the Formby Parish Council. The Formby Times Newspaper and Councillor Cliff Scott reported on the success of the work produced by Shore Creative after a successful pitch to the Council last week. Shore Creative will now be going on to work with the Council on a long term basis to establish the identity and make sure that it is used consistently across all media.

Creative Director Sam Gerrard said: “The challenge of designing the logo for the Council was in balancing a look that the people could relate to whilst also retaining an air of authority. Formby offered many interesting symbols that could have been suitable to incorporate into a logo. However it was not feasible to try and fit in every element. We therefore tried to use a select few elements that gave a nice feel for Formby as a place. After exploring many possible combinations and compositions, the Logo was established which incorporates an element from each of the areas of interest we identified. The logo depicts the prominent coastline with the Dune System, Marram Grass and also some birds flying overhead.”
